The Association was founded at Malbork Castle in July 1991. It incorporated nine countries around the Baltic Sea. The general assembly meets annually and one member from each country is chosen to be a representative in the Board. The Board meets twice a year. [ Read more ]

Trakai Island Castle was built throughout the period starting at the end of the 14th century up to the 15th century. This Gothic castle with Romanesque features was built by Grand Duke Vytautas who ruled 1392-1430. During the wars with Russia in the 17th century the 300 year old castle was ruined.
