Silver exhibition in Häme Castle from the 15th of May 2009 to the 30th September 2010
Timeless Treasure is a silver exhibition produced by Häme Castle and Turku Castle in cooperation with Skokloster Castle and The Hallwyl Museum, Sweden, Koldinghus Castle, Denmark, and Kultakeskus from Hämeenlinna. Timeless Treasure is one of the largest silver exhibitions in Finland.
The exhibition features silverware from the collections of The Museum Centre of Turku, mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries, silverware from the collections of Skokloster Castle and The Hallwyl Museum from the 17th and 18th centuries and modern silverware from Koldinghus Castle. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the long Finnish, Swedish and Danish silversmith tradition, and to offer an overview of the expertise of Nordic silversmiths.
Kultakeskus, the local silverware manufacturer, contributes pieces by academic Tapio Wirkkala to the exhibition.
